PRAY LRCA — Message from Erin

Screen Shot 2015-08-26 at 5.12.42 PM

Hello LRCA prayer warriors! I have been pouring over this year’s theme verse, Luke 2:52, and am so excited about the 2015-2016 focus on growing! As a mom, my heart just swells to see my children growing in their relationship with the LORD. I realize that equipping children to go out into the world and face the challenges that await, can only be accomplished when the knowledge of the love of the LORD is their foundation. The world offers a momentary, fleeting wisdom. The LORD offers wisdom that goes from eternity to eternity.

The word for grew in this verse can be translated “to keep increasing”. It is not a one-time event. It is a continual process. Our focus this year as prayer warriors will be to pray for this growth process at LRCA. We will pray for our children from pre-K through high school, as well as staff and LRCA families.

  • We meet once a quarter as a group to study the Word and then pray the Word (schedule below).
  • I will also send out an email once a month with prayers to pray for our children or a specific class.

We are looking for mom’s to pray from pre-school through high school.

You can register for the Prayer Monthly Emails by clicking this link.

PRAY LRCA SCHEDULE:   August 31      November 2      January 11     April 25

LORD, I pray that we at LRCA (administration, teachers, staff, children, and families) will continually grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with you and men. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

In Him,

Erin Warford – “Pray LRCA” Chair 2015/16   LRCA Parent Teacher Fellowship

Elementary Grandparent’s Day

Grandparent's Day square

Grandparent’s Day is coming, Friday, April 24th, 2015.  The elementary students have sent personal letters to invite them to this special morning at Little Rock Christian Academy.  All K3 – 4th grade students will participate in the program.

Reminder to Parents!  Send photos of your child with his/her grandparent to by Friday, April 10th.  These will be shown in the gym during the program

Schedule for Grandparent’s Day – Friday, April 24, 2015:

  • 8:10 Class begins as usual for K3-4th grade students. Students in 5th – 12th grade are out of school.
  • 9:00 Grandparents begin to arrive in high school gym for coffee,  Shuttles will be provided for parking convenience.
  • 9:30 Grandparent’s Day Program begins in the gym.
  • 10:45 Grandparents visit classroom with grandchild.  Children may leave with grandparents when finished with the visit.
  • 11:30 Elementary Dismissal for the day.

We know that circumstances may prevent some grandparents from being able to attend. If this is the case, your child may invite an “honorary grandparent” to attend the event. There may be a man or woman in your church or neighborhood that would be honored and thrilled to be your child’s “honorary grandparent”. This alternative has always proven to be a blessing and a source of joy for both the child and the adult involved. If an “honorary grandparent” is not available, parents may attend. It is our desire for as many children to participate; however, we do not want a child to feel left out. If your child has no one to attend, you should not send him/her to school that day.

Please be sure to let us know if your child has someone attending with special needs (vision, hearing, mobility, etc.) by emailing Melissa Branton at before Wednesday, April 8th, 2015. We want to accommodate any needs with special seating and/or parking.

The Izquierdo Family

Izquierdo Family

Our hearts are heavy after the passing of a LRCA parent over the weekend.  Friday night, Jenny Izquierdo went to be home with our Heavenly Father after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.  She was a precious mother and friend, and showed such faith and love for her family even while so very ill.
As a school family, many have surrounded the Izquierdos this year both spiritually and physically.  Thank you for the encouragement, meals, love, and friendship you have provided.  Thank you for the fervent prayer offered on their behalf.
Several have asked for information on a memorial or supporting Greg and the children during this time:
  • Education Fund: At Jenny’s request, a memorial fund has been established to assist with Sebastian (Kindergarten) and Jenna’s (K4) educational endeavors.  Click here for further information: Izquierdo Education Account
  • Encouragement: You are welcome to sign the online guest book for Jenny’s family.  Sharing scripture or an encouraging word would mean so much.
  • Other Support: Jenny’s primary request was for her children’s education.  If you would like to provide support in additional ways this semester, please see this online calendar for the best way to do that.

Our prayers continue for this precious Warrior family.
